Debut EP: Charlie Cunningham – Outside Things (2014/11/17) [Full EP Stream]

:: The title track’s a haunting masterpiece!

 

Oxford-based singer/songwriter Charlie Cunningham tells his stories armed with nothing but an acoustic guitar. Back in September, The Line Of Best Fit premiered his incredible debut single Outside Things. As of yesterday, the single is finally available on Cunningham’s debut EP of the same title.

Outside Things dropped officially on November 17, 2014 via Outset Recordings. The EP is available as digital download and limited edition 12″ vinyl. You can buy digitally from iTunes or order your copy both digitally and physically from Cunningham’s Bandcamp.

The entire EP is streaming above (via Bandcamp). I’ve particularly fallen for the title track – its lyrics being written from the perspective of a newly born baby and telling of the confusing foreign experience life must be at its very beginning – but I strongly suggest you take a listen to the whole set. On occasion of the song premiere, Cunningham said of Outside Things: “None of us can remember what it was like to be a baby, but it must have been pretty overwhelming. “Outside Things” is about that.”

Lights Off is the second track lifted from Outside Things. The beautiful video for the song – Cunningham’s first music video – premiered a few days ago via his Youtube. The clip is directed by Murat Gökmen and Lydia C-S, watch it below. Cunningham is currently touring Europe (party supporting Mighty Oaks), check out the upcoming Dates below.
