New Album: Xander Smith – Outside (2014/07/14) [Full Album Stream] / New Single ‘Say Anything’ [Official Video]

:: Beautiful song! I really like Smith’s calming voice.

Run Run Run frontman Xander Smith released his solo debut Hey San Pedro in 2012 and subsequently, he’s been touring the world from the UK to Siberia, always making up his bands anew with musicians anew in each town. So it’s no surprise that Smith’s sophomore album is entitled Outside and was recorded on three continents.

Outside was released on July 14, 2014 via Music Fix / MGM. The album is available as digital download and CD, you can buy digitally from Pledge Music (Access Pass) or you can order your physical copy of Outside from Waterfront Records (worldwide) or Amazon (UK).

The album is streaming in its entirety over at Tone Deaf. The feature also includes a track-by-track account on the album by Xander Smith, it’s an interesting read. Outside features an impressive list of collaborators: Joy Division and New Order original members Bernard Sumner, Stephen Morris and Phil Cunningham as well as members of the Johnny Marr Band. Sumner lends backing vocals and Melodica play to the recording, Cunningham co-wrote the album with Xander Smith.

The official video for beautiful opening track and first single Say Anything is directed by Ron Wells, watch the clip above.
