He Took You In His Arms is taken from the second solo offering of Bill Ryder-Jones. The former guitarist of The Coral who left the English indie-rock band in 2008 after the release of their fifth record to follow his own solo path. He released his solo debut ‘If…’ to critical acclaim in 2011. The orchestral album is thought to be understood as soundtrack to Italo Calvino’s novel If On A Winters Night A Traveller. It is now followed by a debut proper as classical singer and songwriter: Ryder-Jones new album is entitled ‘A Bad Wind Blows In My Heart’ and was released on April 08, 2013 via Domino Recording Co. North American release follows on April 23. The album will be available as CD, LP and digital download. Bill Ryder-Jones recorded ‘A Bad Wind Blows In My Heart’ in his old bedroom upstairs of his mother’s house in Liverpool, supported by friends from a local band as backing musicians. Fire Walker is the spectacular opener of the new album by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (BRMC). It’s already the seventh studio album of the Los Angeles based rock’n'roll trio comprised of Peter Hayes [vocals/guitar/bass], Robert Levon Been [vocals/bass/guitar] and Leah Shapiro [drums]. The record is entitled ‘Specter at the Feast’ and was released on March 19, 2013 via Vagrant Records (US) / Abstract Dragon (UK/Europe). BRMC used the creation of ‘Specter at the Feast’ to process the major loss they suffered after Michael Been, father of vocalist Robert Been and the band’s sound engineer, had passed away backstage during a BRMC live show in 2010.

No Assets is the new single by Oxford’s Spring Offensive. The band is comprised of Lucas Whitworth [vocals/guitar], Theo Whitworth [guitar], Matt Cooper [guitar], Joe Charlett [drums] and Pelham Groom [drums]. The song is written by the band and was recorded and mixed by David Pye at Bachelor’s Mead. The official video for the song was elaborately filmed, devised and performed by the following people* using twelve chest-mounted iPhone cameras . This concept is created by Spring Offensive’s Matt Cooper and Lucas Whitworth, the video was edited by Jack Plummer. Watch it above. The amazing Minor Work is taken from the second full-length offering by Montreal’s alternative rock quartet Suuns. The album entitled ‘Images Du Futur’ was released worldwide on March 05, 2013 via Secretly Canadian. The ten album songs were written and recorded during the Quebec Student Protests in early 2012. According to the band’s frontman, their new album came to be in a ‘climate of excitement, hope and frustration’ which is possibly reflected in the experimental, genre-crossing sound of ‘Images Du Futur’. The album has been very well received by the critics so far, read one of the reviews below. Make up your own mind, the album is streaming in its entirety over at CBC Music. Following the first single Edie’s Dream released last November, Suuns also have a new single out. The official video for 2020 is directed by visual artist Sabrina Ratté, watch it below. From Indian Lakes is an indie-rock outfit from the Southern Yosemite Valley in California. The band is composed of Joey Vannucchi [vocals/guitar], Enrique Gutierrez [keys], Justin Stanphill [guitar] and Guy Samuelson [drums], it was named for their starting location as Vannucchi began making demos in Indian Lakes. Paintings is taken from the band’s sophomore album ‘Able Bodies’ which was self-released worldwide on November 13, 2012. As a christmas gift to their fans, From Indian Lakes re-recorded five of the new songs in acoustic versions – on a rainy day in the Bay Area of California – and released them on December 24, 2012 via their Bandcamp page as a free download, all you gotta do is entering your email. Dead Now is the new single by Scottish alternative-rockers Frightened Rabbit, fronted by lead singer Scott Hutchison. The video is a footage of live material filmed on tour with the band. It’s directed by the fabulous Handheldcineclub. The song will be released on Frightened Rabbit’s fourth studio album. The record entitled ‘Pedestrian Verse’ will be released on February 05, 2012 via Warner Music UK. All songs were recorded in the famous Monnow Valley Studio (Rockfield, South Wales) with producer Leo Abrahams. According to Hutchinson, ‘Pedestrian Verse’ is Frightened Rabbit’s most interesting album to date, we’ll see if he’s right. The Answer is the wonderful new single by Irish folk-rockers Kodaline. Following their self-titled debut EP released in early September, this new song will be featured on the band’s upcoming new release, ‘The High Hopes EP’, which is set for release on March 03, 2013 via B-Unique Records. Edie’s Dream is the first taste of the upcoming sophomore album by Canadian alternative-rock outfit Suuns. The record is entitled ‘Images Du Futur’ and will be in stores worldwide on March 05, 2013 via Secretly Canadian. The ten featured songs were written and recorded during winter and spring 2012 in the band’s hometown Montreal. In February started the Quebec student protests (lasting till September), creating what the band’s frontman Ben Shemie calls ‘a climate of excitement, hope and frustration’ in which ‘Images Du Futur’ came to be. Suuns will come over to Europe for a few concerts and festivals soon, check for all dates below.
Update: The official video for Edie’s Dream is self-directed by the band and follows a thirteen-year-old girl wandering through the vast forests of Quebec. The video was published on January 16, watch it above.

The Tins are Adam Putzer [guitar/vocals], Mike Santillo [keyboards/vocals] and Dave Muntner [drums], three friends from Buffalo, NY who met at University. They are living and working together in a loft (which is also a custom rehearsal studio) that they renovated together in the course of months. Each member is a songwriter, and the band’s creative process is a fully collaborative one.
Following their self-titled 2010 debut EP, The Tins are now releasing their debut full-length. Entitled ‘Life’s A Gas’, the record was self-released on October 02, 2012. All songs were written by The Tins with Modest Mouse producer Joe Blaney, the album is streaming in its entirety below. The fabulous Please Be Kind is the new single, out on September 18. Sea Wolf is a band led by indie-folk musician Alex Brown Church, based in Los Angeles. Further members are Lisa Fendelander [keyboards], Joey Ficken [drums], Theodore Liscinski [bass], Joyce Lee [cello] and Nathan ‘Jr’ Anderson [electric guitar]. ‘Old World Romance’ is their third full-length album and was released on September 11, 2012 via Dangerbird Records where the band is signed to. The record is entirely streaming above (via Soundcloud). My favourite tracks are Dear Fellow Traveler and Miracle Cure but I do like the whole record a lot.
