New Video: Stornoway – Farewell Appalachia

:: What a marvellous song! My favourite track of the latest Stornoway record now comes with a visual companion.

Oxford’s alternative folk/pop outfit Stornoway comprises of lyricist and singer Brian Briggs [tenor/guitar], Jon Ouin [baritone/keys/zither] as well as brothers Oliver [baritone/bass] and Robert Steadman [soprano/drums]. The band released their sophomore LP Tales From Terra Firma on March 11, 2013 via 4AD. US release followed on March 19. The nine songs are written, performed and produced by Stornoway, you can still stream the entire album over at GC Magazine.

Farewell Appalachia is my favourite song off the album, and I’m glad that it now also comes with an official video for us to enjoy. The beautiful clip is directed by Matt Cooper, it was filmed and edited by madebylung.com.

Stornoway have a new self-recorded mini-album coming up. It’s entitled You don’t know anything and will officially drop not before November 11, 2011 – but the six songs are already streaming on the band’s Bandcamp. By the end of November, the Oxford guys will hit the road for a new string of thirteen UK shows, check out the schedule below.
