Debut Album: Bastille – Bad Blood [The Extended Cut] (2013/03/04)

:: A gradually evolved debut record reflecting Bastille’s own formation.

It’s been quite a way from the beginning of Bastille as the one-man-band of South London singer and songwriter Dan Smith to a full-grown band behind frontman and creative centre Smith together with his friends Chris ‘Woody’ Wood, Will Farquarson and Kyle Simmons. (The band name relates to the day Dan Smith was born – Bastille Day.) In the course of the past two years, several EP’s and singles helped establish Bastille in the British indie-pop scene and started quite a buzz. Now it’s finally time for the band’s debut full-length. The record is entitled ‘Bad Blood’ and was released on March 04, 2013 via Virgin Records. ‘Bad Blood’ is available in two versions: ‘The Extended Cut’ includes six additional tracks and five videos of Bastille’s previous singles. Check on the tracklist below. Bastille are currently on the road in the UK promoting their debut, with gigs to follow in the US and mainland Europe, you can check for upcoming dates in your area below.

Watch above the official video for the title-track Bad Blood that was single-released in August 2012. The video is directed by Olivier Groulx. Last summer, the band also recorded a live video version of their 2011 debut single Flaws. It’s directed by Louis Ellison for EMI Creative and was filmed at special strings recording at the famous Abbey Road Studios, watch it below. The current, fourth single Pompeii was released digitally on February 25. The video directed by Jesse John Jenkins is waiting for you below as well.
