Dead Can Dance – Opium / New Album ‘Anastasis’ (2012/08/13)

18 Aug

:: Was listening to this one on my city ways a couple of days ago. For something like two hours or so. Cause I didn’t realise that I had repeat switched on. Completely taken by the song!

‘Anastasis’ is the the first Dead Can Dance album in sixteen years. It was released in Europe on August 13, 2012 via PIAS Recordings, US release followed on August 14. Founded in 1980 by Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry, the Australian band separated in 1998 after a very successful career. Both followed their own paths in making music. While Lisa Gerrard mainly worked as composer of film and television soundtracks, Perry released two solo records and runs his own samba school in Ireland where he lives. Now, they are reunited and back with their ninth studio album. It comprises eight beautiful songs with the renowned Dead Can Dance sound, combining neo-classical world music and dark folk. You can download Amnesia, the first single, for free on their homepage by entering your email. Listen to it and check upcoming tour dates below.
