Yesterday, The xx unveiled the second song taken from their upcoming sophomore album ‘Coexist‘, due in September via Young Turks Records. I gotta admit that I was a tiny bit disappointed by the first single Angels. Don’t get me wrong, it is a beautiful and typically xx-like song with breathtaking lead vocals by Romy. Nevertheless I would’ve liked a bit more power and strength for the first single. Chained is all that and more. Vocally led by Oliver Sim and rhythmically driven, the song is about lovers who are drifting apart.
