Following his first two singles earlier this year (Broken Brights and Bird on the Buffalo, both available for free download), Angus Stone is releasing his solo debut album today (July 13, 2012) in Australia. The record is also entitled ‘Broken Brights’ and is out via Angus Stone’s own label Desert Harvest Records. European release follows on July 16 and North-American on July 17. Listen above to two album tracks Angus shared a couple of days ago via his Soundcloud. He is well-known for being a part of the brother-sister duo Angus & Julia Stone. Together, they have released two full-length records and several EP’s. While Julia came out with her solo debut in late 2010 (‘The Memory Machine’), Angus already had released a solo album entitled ‘Smoking Gun’ in 2009, but used the moniker Lady of the Sunshine at that time. ‘Broken Brights’ therefore has to be regarded as his official solo debut.
